Road 211? I’ve only lived here since 2017 but I thought I’d ridden just about every two lane in the area but I’ve never seen road 211. Now, my road, 415 heading west from hiway 41 turns into Raymond road for a bit then road 600 and then road 21…whew! Why do they do that? They also name roads by the half, like road 21 and road 21 1/2. WTH is with 1/2 road names? Can’t they just name them in sequence like road 21 and then road 22 but road 21&1/2? Seems kinda silly to me just like road 415 changing names four times in just a few miles, all in the same county. Ben Hur road is only named that in Mariposa county. In my county, Madera, road 615 turns into Ben Hur at the county line. But still, I can’t find road 211. Maybe you meant road 21?

Nope. Road 211 parallels Highway 41 down to Friant Dam. Super Fun! Wiggle Wiggle.
Raymond Rd/Rd 415 just as fun! This is just down the road from you.

Gotcha. I’ve ridden that road many times and never paid attention to its name which is dangerous if I were to crash. Where would I ask the ambulance to go? It’s a pretty rough road probably the kind you like. From my place to Shaver Lake I’ll take it instead of 41 heading towards Friant. I’ll remember its name now!

Friant is little more than an intersection, but it's got fuel & snacks.

Can you ride a Goldwing on these tours?
If you can handle that big bike on our backroads, all the merry. We have two regular alumni that ride newer Goldwings on these tours on a regular basis. Goldwings can haul the mail, have a very low center of gravity & are quite nimble with the right rider at the helm.

Nearby to Auberry, we get into a burnt area from a forest fire a few years ago. This wildfire burned out of the national forest and got down to the 5000 ft level when it was finally stopped.

Always sad to see people lose their homes, but we can see rebuilding in progress

Plus Auberry Rd is super fun popping up & over this 5000 ft summit.

We've gotten snowed on atop this summit in previous years we've ridden over it in spring.
