i have an 05 hayabusa and it has recently developed a short (i think) that causes it to cut off and then fire right back up every time i hit a bump. when it happens the rpms drop off and the temp guage shoots in the red. ive pulled off the fairings and tried to wiggle wires while its running and have yet to get it to repeat the problem, checked the kick stand sensor and thats not the problem...any suggestions???

If it's not the tip over sensor it'll probably be a contact problem in the engine kill switch ... most owners don't realise with the ignition on and the engine kill in the stop position, the temp gauge climbs to the red ... switch it to the run position and you should hear the fuel pump prime ...

As this is one of the symptoms of your bike you should check it out.

All good advice above. Since it sounds like an electrical power problem, start with the simple things first. Battery connections, ground to frame, positive connection both ends, kill switch, tip over sensor, you checked the kickstand switch (good man  ). Kill switches don't always get used much, and can give problems over time. Especially if the bikes out in the weather. I never use my kill switches, but my bikes are garaged and never see much moisture. After the simple things work your up to the other stuff. If you've never had your bike apart much or messed with anything electrical it'll prolly be something simple. If you have had a lot of things apart electrical wise then you'll need to be patient and thorough
