08 Engine

I heard there were engine updates made to the 08. In particular they are using titanium valves. Is this for fuel compatibility in the future? I have never heard of this material in a consumer engine before.
BTW I appreciate the welcome on the other forum.

Seems like there are other bike engines going to titanium valves.Probably for strength and light weight.

And since they are lighter, Suzuki was able to use smaller, lighter valve springs as well.

Exactly.... Lighter allows more RPM and lighter springs. Lighter springs can reduce hp loss as well!

And they (Suzuki) have been using titanium valves in other models for several years. My 2005 GSXR1000 has them.
