08 fairings ?

anyone know if they will fit 1st gen bikes,so basically if you really like the look of the 08 you could potentially spend $1500 for new bodywork and have a brand new "looking" bike

well, I haven't physicaly touched them but based on all of the pics there's a difference. I don't have the picture but it's around this site some where... in it you can cleary see a mounting bracket for the body which extends off of the engine on the right front side. It has a rubber grommet. This tells me it's one of thos push-in type of connections like the one of the v1 busa for the side fairings mouting point by the gas tank.

Except for the swingarm the frames the same. So they should bolt right on. You might need the 08 subframe, and the tank/humps diff shaped, so not sure how that would work with the seat. And the exhaust is diff so not sure how exhaust clearance would be...............hmmm.......maybe its not so bolt on after all
