08 is dragging bad

So the bike still runs and sounds perfect but it acts like I'm holding the brake a little while I'm riding and you can just feel like it's begging down or dragging something. It has me worried because the only other time I have felt anything like this was in my first truck at 16 and it blew the motor shortly after. I was wondering if the clutch going bad could cause this or maybe my chain is too tight. I just don't know and definitely dont want to hurt my baby any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated

And, if the chain was too tight, you would hear a popping sound as the chain rolled over the sprocket teeth, and the rear suspension travel would be limited, which would result in an all over rough ride...but you would not have bogging or hesitation as a result.
If it was your clutch, you would feel the bike losing momentum, but the engine would run fine, and rev to redline easily.
And if it was a failing engine...you would know by now, lol, as it would smoke, knock, or have already blew.

Or if one or more of the valves were too tight...too loose and it's obvious by the racket they make....

We would need to know a little more about the bike to make a decent guess.....

I have only ever noticed fixing tight or loose valves to improve/ease starting the bike, not any noticeable performance loss or gain.

Probably wanna check the brakes for dragging and getting that outta the way BEFORE making assumptions about the engine performance.
If the brakes are free, and the chain is not over adjusted, it may possibly be that the fuel system is not delivering enough fuel thru the injectors.
Then it's time for a fuel pressure test and fuel delivery rate test. . . if the fuel pump is not delivering enough pressure or fuel or both, the bike will have a lean condition/lean surge which is a possible threat, makes the combustion temperatures soar and that ain't good!
Start checking and testing man.

Plus one on the brake check first and then check the fuel system. Put the bike up on the front and rear stand, and make sure that the transmission's in neutral and spin both wheels. No drag, probably the fuel pump. How old is the bike and how many miles do you have on it?.

Changing the fuel pump is really not that hard.

So I have been working steady and haven't had time to check anything but now that my bike is down I'm going to pop the tank and fuel rail than give it all a good cleaning and than check my fuel pressure. I did change the brakes and didn't notice any resistance so I think they are good. I had the back tire changed and the shop I went to had my chain so tight it ate at least half the teeth off my rear sprocket so after I get a new sprocket I will adjust my chain hopefully well enough it doesn't hinder my bikes performance and most Importantly it will be safe

Whenever I've changed rear tyres on customer's bikes at the shop I worked at, I've never touched the chain adjustment, just no need to, unless it was out of adjustment to start with, and then we would talk to the owner first BEFORE adjusting anything.
Adjusting a chain without the owner's consent can lead to opening a can of worms.
This is why bike owners like yourself need to learn the basics especially chain adjustment and drive line examination, and correct diagnosis for any faults.
It's not good when you take your bike to a shop to have a job done by 'professionals' and you get it back in a worse state than you left it . . a right PITA.
Make a complaint in writing to the shop's manager or owner so they know where they went wrong and it gives them a chance to right that wrong, and if they prove themselves to be uncaring for their customers, beat the feet and find someone better!
