08 tail swap on gen 1 ?

where do you mount the battery rectifier that was on the side of the gen 1 sub frame when you do the 08 tail swap

stock is under the bike so i moved mine there on my gen2, adams makes a plate for it...

so you mounted it to the side like gen 1,cool but i dont think i want to pay 40 bucks for that bracket i can make one

there's a bracket that goes for 25 bucks on ebay and relocates it on the right side of the subframe , i placed mine center underneith the passenger seat, for the ecm i had to cut the right side edge of the ecm base (08 is smaller) and use a little screw and elastic band to scure it , the power commander was placed were the tools go it fit perfect, some people place the regulator underneith the fender, hope this helped you

I did a 08 tail install on a friends 05 gen 1 and the rectifier sits in essentially a stock location by the tail lock. I bolted one 12mm bolt into the existing sub frame hole and other tab I zip tied it to the frame. It's been holding up fine with no problems.

Thats not a good ideal to put it there.

Why not? That's where it was, I don't want to mess with any wiring, that usually just leads to more trouble.

because the genI tail has an opening for air to hit the unit and cool it down
The ugly genII does not thats why thy put it were they did so it can be cooled down by air flow.
