Paul you would be better off calling Lee's Performance and have him do the work. You can get the bored/plated block and pistons and do it yourself but its a pretty big job. I work on bikes everyday and I will not touch the top end of a motor.

do you degree cams atleast?Paul you would be better off calling Lee's Performance and have him do the work. You can get the bored/plated block and pistons and do it yourself but its a pretty big job. I work on bikes everyday and I will not touch the top end of a motor.Whats all that about Gary?
Yes I can degree cams and adjust valves but I will not pull a head. I have fixed many transmissions but just something about pulling a head give me an uneasey feeling that I'll mess something up.do you degree cams atleast?Paul you would be better off calling Lee's Performance and have him do the work. Muzzy's have big bore kits.... looked good to me!! I suggest you check them out once on their web siteAfter meeting that guy at the busa bash with a 1397(I'm bad with names) in his bike, i've decided to do this myself.
Where's the place to go for a kit and is it a bolt-on deal?
I'd rather not have to split the cases.
I would stay away from muzzy on this, I believe his bores are off center, which means the crank is pushing the rods at an angle.Muzzy's have big bore kits.... looked good to me!! He heard carpenter makes good power, just not as much as he boasts. And for the price, you could nearly have a turbosystem making 80-100 more horsepower.I would stay away from muzzy on this, I believe his bores are off center, which means the crank is pushing the rods at an angle.Muzzy's have big bore kits.... looked good to me!! I have no personal expeience with them, but have heard god things about Carpenter Racing Engines.
That sounds like a winner. but expensive to do both.Besides, a turbo on top of a 1397 sounds great to me.
build a motor and it blows, you lose everything. buy a turbo kit and it blows. You lose a piston, maybe a rod (many people will give these to you) and at max a $800 turbo. What about turbo reliability? I understand all motor to be more reliable. Is this not the case?
