I want to buy a busa thats had a 1429 kit fitted, with yoshi cams and headwork plus a whole lot of other mods.
What are the Pros and Cons of buying one and can it reliable on the street with 2 fans fitted, muzzy blades and water wetter as added protection.
Bike ran a 326km GPS ( 203 mph ) at 1,753 m (5,751 ft) above sea level

Would like to here your thoughts.

Thanks

what's the compression at and what are the cams degreed at? These have a big influence on how "hot" the engine may run. I've run a 1464, 1585, and even a 1623cc engine on the street with no issues for years/miles. It all depends on how tame the engine is built/tunned.

On the flip side there are some built 1397's that can't handle the streets. It's all dependant on the build.

Difficult to say what the compression and what it is degreed at. All i know its built by a reputable tuner in South Africa who builds many big bore busa's and turbo busa's here.

I would suggest asking him directly. If he's reluctant to tell you the details of the engine then a simple question for him to answer would be,"is this engine going to be reliable on the streets during every day riding?" :beerchug:

I spoke to him and he has never had the engine overheat, and he uses it on our local toy runs, and its never overheated on riding. If i buy it i will put second fan on, muzzy blades and water wetter just as a precautionary measure, some insurance is better than no insurance.

sounds like a plan with the dual fans and redline's water wetter :beerchug:
For the time being I wouldn't suggest swapping to aluminim muzzy fans.
The other mod you can do is swap the fans thermo switch with the honda accord switch mod. It activates the fans at a lower coolant temperature.

Commuta, do you have a part number for the fan thermo switch? Can i ask why not switch to muzzy fans?
Do you perhaps know, if you have a border line 2001/2002 model how to tell which power commander to use. as there are different models for 2001 and 2002?

Thanks for the help, much appreciated.

The part is for a Honda Accord, the part number is 37760-P00-003. You'll have to wire it up yourself though unless you can dig up a connector in a salvage yard.

The muzzy blades aren't as close to the radiator as the OE fans also the pitch isn't as aggressive either. Unless you adjust the aluminium fan blades yourself they will be less afficient than the OE fans.

As far as the ECM goes, what's the part number on your ECM? This will determine the correct year.

btw... can you send me some Biltong? No one around here can make it right (lacks the local spices).

Biltong, my word. Think by the time it reaches the states it will be rock hard. Would they allow me to send spices? lol. I will try and get the number on the ECM.
Nice bike by the way and a impressive list of mods.

Thanks for the help, here are 2 pictures of the bike i want to buy.

I just miss having good biltong. :beerchug: Thanks, my bike has been through alot of iterations over the years. It never ends...

Yours looks good nice n clean. It's interesting how they did the Gen 2 paint job on the Gen 1 body. Make sure the trans shifts real good. Let me know about the ECM. :welcome:

Thanks, cant wait to take delivery of it. Been my dream to own this particular one.
Just going to add some carbon bits and hugger to it, maybe HID system.
I already own a 2004 and after getting the one above its time to start saving for my last busa, an all out turbo monster. Will let you know about the ECM number. and nothing beats South African Biltong.

I'm not from SA just visited with friends. Would luv to make it back there again. The flight is a killer though.

Commuta_Busa, yeah i could imagine the flight is a killer. Spoke to owner tonight, he will get the number on the ECM to me then will forward to you. Looking at driving to go test ride bike next weekend ( Pity its over 1226 miles there and back ). The bike is not fitted with power commander so need to do some home work about which PC to order and have the bike tuned for sea level should i buy it. Just worried should it blow up or implode then wont have the cash to fix it. Parts and labour here is like house prices, OVERPRICED.

$treetRacer, Nice ride, Awesome colour scheme, one of the best colour schemes out there for factory colours.
