I'm an unsponsored ultralight jockey in the PNW hoping to spend some time while I'm still unmarried to try my luck at some LSR events (factory stock for now) at El Mirage, Beeville, Loring and possibly a Shift Sector event or 2.

I've seen some insane numbers (Bob Sellers 2012-2015 runs. Even Tim Jones *211 and Falkonworks too) and would love to hear about yours.

Watching the livestream of the Texas Mile this weekend it looked like they were fighting nasty headwinds. You never know if you'll hit the big 2 but I bet it's always fun trying.

I've got a big shopping list of things for this winter (Schnitz,Falkonworks,Brocks,PowerShift are my big 4) but if anyone has used/new/prototype stuff laying around PLEASE reach out. I can trade some nice corbin seats and also pay fair used prices. I've been out of work (strike) the past month and honestly it MIGHT put me out for the entire season if I can't go about this smart.

You will need 17/38 gearing or stock 17/40 with a 55 series rear tire to have enough gearing to reach 200mph, and that is only if you have enough extra hp to get there then(17/40 will get you to 194mph).
No mirrors, drop weight where ever you can, and maybe even ride with no seat or a cut seat to get you lower out of the wind.
Lots of safety-wired parts(oil drain plug, axles) and a metal chain guard are usually required.
Small airbox mod will be needed(remove the flapper from the bottom of the airbox), if it hasn't been done already.

Also random shout out to Rojo who is always liking comments/pictures. I gave up my pilot dreams in high school. I'm about 20 logged hours away from finishing my PPL. My work would reimburse me to finish but with the bike/work I hardly have the motivation. Wish I bought a plane 10 years ago.
Hi. I have 2 LSR bikes. 1 a supercharged about 300 HP. The 2nd is still being built. Garrett G 42-1200c turbo with NOS.

Sixpack, always enjoy seeing your insightful comments. Yep all of that is done except the lockwire. All major weigh reduction minus a couple minor things are done. Still waiting for someone to post some CF wheels for sale but it has a set of R1 now. Waiting for a cera-carbon sprocket discount but also have a couple aluminum back ups.

Some of my "ideas" have been tested and argued 100 times on here but I'm going in solo so I've gotta come prepared and correct.

Land speed is a blast.
BUT not for everyone
Got a buddy running a 7:60 gen2. Admits over 180 scares the poop out of him
I don’t like the spine jarring launch
But 4-5+ seconds at 200+ doesn’t bother me. Have heart rate logs to show . Have you run any sanctioned events?
I can gps 190 on my way to the grocery store and feel very little (I keep it on the track now) but I'm jonesing for a 200club shirt.... I don't believe in or respect GPSd 200 club claims

I haven't, very green. Only 1/4 drags and 1/3 roll events on a dilapidated runway.

Bonneville is 800 miles away El Mirage is 1,500 Beeville 2,264 Blytheville 2,291. Might try a shift sector event but right now getting ready for Beeville in March. If around January dates go out for October and Beeville/Arkansas line up I'll do both.

I recall back in the day there were tee-shirts that had "Life begins at 240" (kms/hr) on them........that was the key number in those days, you were riding something special to get to those speeds.....

Very few bikes before 1985 could achieve that kind of speed....

It's crazy to think that 240 kms/hr is so easy to pass on the Hayabusa (and lots of other bikes) that it isn't even significant anymore....

Thankyou sir
Keep us posted on how things go, and good luck with it.

Hi. The slow LSR bike. Only 220 to 225?

I read here recently about a fast standing mile racer that increased the redline of his bike to 12k (I think). I can see a mile event being a "drag race" to get to 200. Not so much on the longer courses.

Is 12k consistently safe on a stock bottom end? Is it as simple as an ECU remap?

Love to experience Bonneville. Worked as a tech inspector at PIR for Cascade Sports Car Club. (Woohoo...) Maybe I could work in the pits for you or something next August.

12k is useless unless the engine was built to be strong enough, and the cams/head have the flow to make power to that point.
Most bolt-on Busa engines have stopped making any more hp before 11k rpm, can still continue to rev higher, but aren't accomplishing anything other than stress on the engine.
And yes, you can flash the ecu and set the soft and hard rpm limits, both have presets, but can be increased
