allrighty then, here it is......they rock! Finally got them mounted up and scrubbed down, ready for the maiden voyage. Right out of the gate, the turn-in rate is way quicker then the M1's (and I am a big fan of the M1 Sportec) the M3's want to fall pretty dang fast. Second, less effort to wrestle the piglet from side to side in the tight stuff....he'll* come over the top with alarming quickness. After a little time I felt faster and smoother then ever. Third, high speed stability is awesome....did a run to 170+, rock solid. Fourth, (they were right)....after a morning of hard use, very little obvious wear. Overall opinion: I like them alot better then my beloved M1's. As far as looks, the tread pattern is really cool but the rear looks skinny compared to my "p" spec M1. I'm not sure it is, just looks that way. Still, they look killer on the busa, the shop said customers were asking all kinds of questions about them before I picked the bike up. The back was $155, front $119. I think I've found my tire!

*- ya, that's right. The bike is a "he". !st divorce cost me $250,000, second damn near cost me my life. The bike's a "he".....the way it is...

That's good to know moondog. I'm a Metzeler fan myself. I've been on M1's for a while now, but I haven't decided on the next set. Everyone swears by the Pilot Powers, but I don't know. If the M3's are as good as you say, then heLL, why mess with a good thing?

 Thanks for the report!!

I'm glad that they're turning out to be a good tire because with 3 great tires, it'll help keep the cost down

Qualifiers, Powers, and M3s?   Whichever one is cheaper

The shop had a set of Powers, beautiful tire....I almost just went with them as they were about the same cost. However, after reading so much about the M3's and being a die-hard M1 fan, I just had to try them at least once. Glad I did....if the wear rate is as good as they say, I'll stay with the M3's. I think they made me a smoother, quicker rider in the twisties right off the bat. I also noticed I wasn't running all the way up to the edge of the tire like I do on the M1's and going through the same corners quicker.

The only real world review I have found was on a New Zealand Bike forum. Guy with a Triumph Speed 4 had over 6500km on a set with 1/3 of the tread left to the wear bars. Guy raved about them even did some track days.

Thanks for the update, I was wondering which tire to switch to once the factory ones wore out... I think you found my next skins....

Thanks for the report.
Quickly closing in on replacing the originals and every word on this forum helps a ton!

Oh, and my bike is a "he" too...

Great write up. I have a M-1 and love it. And it is getting time to start thinking about a full set. So it was a toss up between the M-3 or PP. I guess I will try the M-3 now. Let us know how it holds up in a few weeks.

COol I am in love with the M1s makes the Busa fall in quick, and they were the cheapest ones too. 69$ for front and 99$ for the rear at my local shop. I may try the M3s
