Ok, so I finally get a day to where I can really check things out. Its nice and sunny outside, and nice and cool. So I think, Op Check the bike time! I grab my gear, and the first thing I notice is only a little nick on my helmet from my wreck. $600.00+ Arai helmet, I'm happy. Next thing I notice is my jacket, the right shoulder pad is bent in completely from where my shoulder made contact with the mountain. Had to bang that back out with a hammer from the auto place on base. Next I check my gloves, boots, and my underwear. Good to go.
I throw my gear on, and just go up and down the street back and forth a few times. Just to make sure the brakes are biting and not giving me problems. No squealing or anything. But everytime I hit a bump I heard a knocking....so I'm looking and looking but I see nothing. I go back to the barracks, park the bike...and start to inspect everything. I found the knocking, its the Right fork....bumping against my NEW PAINTED FENDER! Arrggg. After looking I cant tell where the problem lies. Its either the bracket on the right side that the fender connects to, or its the fork, or bottom triple clamp. I will look into this further. So I loosen all the screws up, and pull forward on the fender and get more clearance.
So the front fender is in a somewhat temporary spot. After that I am off on my mission. To make sure all 6 gears shift smoothly, and all my shocks/brakes and steering dampener work fine. There are a couple of corners here on base to test the steering damp, and speed bumps to play with the shocks. Remember I'm just Op Checking things, making sure the bike is rdy for the mountains and Hi speed blasts again. So I'm doing about 30mph, (speed limit on base), and I feel something kinda weird. I stand up while riding and accelerate a bit to about 50mph while looking at the front tire. I noticed my Right router is warped. Arrggg. I also found out my SpeedO keeps jumping around on me. I checked all the connections, it must be the wires in the cable. Something may have got pinched in the wreck.
But other than that, the bike is fine. Everything held together at (XXXmph)
and just need to swap the router. While I'm at it, I will throw the aftermarket rotors on and swap the brake pads. So this is where I ask:
Q: Which Rotor's to put on? Decent price, must be light weight.
Q: Pads, which ones?
And who here "Board sponsor wise" can get them both?
On Monday, when I receive the Cowling Brace, ill throw the nose on and take a pic of the bike all together. Thanks for reading my boring thread!
