Ok i was wanting to do the clutch mod but i read on a web site that when you do you crack a part of the clucth and i wanted to know if this was true.

what im talking bout

also i wanted to start drag racing next season so i was collecting parts and on brocks page he says go i tooth down in the front. In doing this i lose my top end. What i wanted to know is is there a rear sprocket that will give you teh same effect as going down one in the front. Im asking casue i planed on buying a seperate rim with a drag tire and have a rim with a street tire so when i go to the track i can just switch wheels and when i got to the twisties i can put on my other tire. Now i dont go 186+ everytime out but when i get the itch i want to be able to scratch it.

Don't know about the clutch, but I am pretty sure going up 3 in the rear is the same as going down 1 in the front.

If you use use the HD springs it will crank the sprocket cover where the clutch slave bolts to it, you can buy the support like the one in your link to make sure it doesn't happen. I am -1 in the front and its fine to me I think you will loose a little top end but not enough to worry about it.

did you do the clutch mod if so did u use a brace and if not did u notice any sideaffects

Check out the drag racing thread too. You will probably have better luck there.

Postal.

1 advantage of useing a 16 tooth front sprocket over a 43 rear for drag raceing
is that it lengthens your wheelbase slightly instead of shortening it

Been looking at some kits.On those BD clutch kits do you really need that cam lvr? So no one has tried the brace?
