Hi, new to the forum here.
I have been searching for an answer but cannot resolve my issue.
I bought a 2001 that had fuel issues which were resolved a while ago, fuel had solidified in the tank, tank filter and pipes.
this was resolved a while ago.
The bike was left on a rear wheel stand (so upright) for a few months, long story.
i have recently had the time to get the bike running, so bought some fuel, went to the garage, put the fuel in and the battery was flat, bought a charger and left the charger on for 3/4 days.
gone to the bike and tried to start, thats where the fun started.
switch on the bike all gauges go through their routine then the chec message is displayed, temp gauge goes to H.
i have found this is an indicator that the run switch is off, its not - its in the run position.
all the lights work, and the horn. i have even added another battery using jump leads.
still the same.
its as if the run switch is off.

checked every connector i can find, unplugging, plugging back in.....
checked every fuse from the main fuse 30A to all the (15A, 10A) fuses under the fairing.
still the same problem
i have checked the starter turns the engine over which it does.
still the same issue.
I have taken the run switch apart and checked, its in perfect condition.
as its on a wheel stand i have put the side stand up. no change

it has a spyball alarm fitted but this was disabled by the original owner (i dont know how, but its never activated since i bought the bike and the key fobs with new batteries do nothing)

if i remove the ECU, the bike behaves exactly the same, switch on dash does its test chec and temp gauge goes to H.

so i am guessing that no power is getting to the ECU or its fried since i charged the battery.

any help to find this issue would be much appreciated

Probably not. How about the tipovor switch? I am not a tech and I thought I would just chime in but others who know this behavior well may chime in soon.
