2008 - alternator output

Man, I am having a hard time finding this info... a 2008 Busa Service Manual would sure be nice right about now.

I understand the Gen I Busa's had a 400-watt alternator, and there are 500-watt aftermarket stators that can be had for that bike.

What about the Gen II Busa? Anyone seen/heard what the '08 factory stator puts out?

08 Operators Manual only says "Three-phase A.C. generator" "30amp main fuse". 14 (+/-) Volts coming from generator (my measurement with digital meter) X 30 amps = 420 (+/-) Watts. Did this part change? havent seen anything to indicate so. Tried to buy a 08 service manaul a couple weeks ago and was told by dealer, not available yet.

I think its the same , do you plan on adding alot of extra draws on it ? You can do a two battery combo.

Only if I go completely insane and try to turn this beast into a LD rally bike.

Which, seriously, is not my intent... still have the Blackbird fully decked out for this line of work. Still, I was curious to know how much power is available (above that needed just to run the bike) before one really starts to push the stator's performance envelope.

It would be nice if it was well above 100-watts, but I'm not too hopeful that's the case, based upon my limited exposure to Suzuki product line. A lot of my Endurance Riding brethren use the DL1000 as LD mount, and it's a real struggle for them to run aux lights and heated clothing concurrently.

Being that you are a XX fan/owner i've been told to change the busa battery for the one in the Honda blackbird. I can get the # if you want . I've got a few lights on my bike and my batery is old so I will be getting it , it must put out a few more amps.

'Tis a bummer that Suzuki insists on such modest stator output on their product line.

I'm sure that 400-watts is more than sufficient to run the bike in everyday use. And I realize it's not a purpose-built 2-up touring rig, but..... even my 10-year old Blackbird has a 460-watt stator.

Oh, well.... if I feel the need for more electrical juice, I'm sure Electrosport will come up with a 500-watt version just as they did for the Gen I Busa's...

Yep, I found that out this morning when I called Suzuki to order up a Service manual.

Since they are still rated at the same modest 400-watts as Gen I Busa's, I was hoping this Gen II stator is identical to previous years. The parts numbers, however, are off by one digit:

Gen I Hayabusa stator: p/n 32102-24F10
Gen II Hayabusa stator: p/n 32102-24F20
