23 days til a 6000mi ride/2 weeks on the Buss

well im leaving on the 30th, i have 6 days to get form Casper Wy. to Orlando Fl.for an NCOM convention. google says 2485mi. but im guessing closer to 3000mi. with stops and side routes. roughly 500mi a day. plan is to boogie and take a left turn at Albuquerque, visiting some friends (and maybe getting a sticker kit for the Busa) then heading to New Orleans as quick as i can. would like to make it there by the 2nd day but 1847mi is a long haul. might stop to see my cousin Amanda and her husband "Cooner Boy" super dork (brian?) he's a goober/married in family, in Houston Tx. i want as much time as i can muster along the gulf coast.
i have found the more i travel, the less i carry. im compiling a list of things to bring/pack and its getting smaller. i hear alot about bugs in the south, so i have dug out my jungle hammock and a few miles of rope to hang it with. figgure i'll buy DEET when i get to where it's not snowin. there's walmarts everywhere.

MODS- i have added a tank bag, ZG touring windscreen, and i just upgraded to a Nokia flip phone, it has a 3mp camera and mp3 player(i have yet to figure out). and my folks decided to get me an early birthday present. a garmin 1200? yet to arrive. my folks are cool and worry about me.:beerchug:

Sounds like fun I would say don't forget something like caldesene (sp?) To keep your parts dry when you get south....a good case of monkey butt will certainly derail your fun ;). Make sure you take lots of pics :beerchug:

Take another day and come to West Palm Beach if you like .
As far as your riding another 300 here won't hurt .

Good luck stay safe .
The sun is out !
Bring sunscreen for your face even if you have a colored shield.
Bring a bathing suit so you can jump in as well .
Drink lots of water .
The heat and humidity here will really put a hurting on folks who aren't use to it .
It's not august but yesterday was 83 with 82% humidity .
Just starting to get sticky !
 
nice! am counting down the hours now for my ride to deals gap. kinda overwhelmed but looking fwd to doing it. Have fun!
 
Hey you will be coming through my neck of the woods give me shout when your in Nashville headed to the Dragon I may meet up with you. Side note as for now the dragon is closed due to rock slides but there is talk of an opening from the NC side
 
I would make sure to keep a rag in your tank bag to keep the visor clean. I hate when my visor gets dirty with dead bugs.

you bet! after the convention im heading to key west for a day. then i would like to find a campsite on the ocean, and hang out in paradise for a day or so.
going to make a big loop and do both coasts of Florida. ride through the everglades.(think i can get leathers made of gator? :laugh:) hope to be up towards the Dragon by around the 13th. wife wants me home by the 17th.

sorry no pics at the moment. i dropped my camera on the shop floor and broke the darn thing.
