Joe Amo just ran 252.899 on his nearly 20 year old Kawasaki 997cc motorcycle at Bonneville... This is the older late 80's ZX10 not the newer one.

Congrats Joe ! ! ! ! ! !

I thought the 14 presented some aero challenges, he pushed this through 252 MPH :bowdown::bowdown:

I think you have the wrong bike. This is the ZX10 that set the record....

looks like a busa front fender in the pics from "got busa?" actually forks, brakes and rotors look like a gen 1 busa

Great looking bike. Wow.
APS-BG1000, so its a turbo, and thats about as good a set of lines on an APS I have ever seen.
The CdA on a typical "stock" Busa or ZX14 is around 3.5. I'm venturing to guess that the CdA on that bike is around 2?? Thats 40% less power she needs to make. Very nice.

I love stock appearing plastics but I would love to put that shell over what I am working on right now. Kudos to the effort and cash that went into making that work. I just could not imagine the old style ZX-10 cutting the wind like that. That looks like a Busa frame in there as well...where is the Kawasaki?

I was wondering how much the mph would improve with the rule change about the rear section. In the future I'm sure there will be alot more bikes looking like this.

Did he ever run that bike before the rule change? I wonder how much of a mph improvement the aero changes made.
