Sportec M1's?

you must ride it like you stole it...my stock tires have 2000+ miles on them and still look great! My last bike...02 F4i...i went 8000 miles before i had to change them both!

It ALL depends on how hard u ride, sportbike tires dont last anything like a harley tire. Sportbike tires are normally very soft for traction. I got only about 1600 out of a pair of Pirelli's and they were done! 2600 on the BT56 is about right if u ride semi agressive, they arent my 1st choice in tire for milage or sticky. The Metzeler's are great but would only give u maybe 2000 or so. If u want milage go with a touring tire, Continental makes a good one I hear. If u want performance + milage Michelin Pilot Powers are the way to go IMHO.

I ride semi hard and got over 5K out of the Pilot rear and over 7K out of the front. For best price on those check with StreetNTrack on this board or  www.MOTOXOUTLET.com

Busafish LOL Our Busa's do look like a Fish . Pregnant Manati -- John Burns called it once.
I just got the worst tire milage since i have owned my Busa , 3,100 but it sure was fun !!
Pirelli Pilot Sport

I also got low miles from the stocker. I like to stretch the Busa's legs every now and then, but otherwise little aggressive riding. In addition, I'm a welterweight at 150 lbs, so I can't figure it out.

At any rate, it has been a good excuse to get the pilot powers. Can't wait to wear them out!

Just about right...mine had wearbars @ 2700 miles.  I (gingerly) coaxed another 600 miles out of it.
Next time I'll need front too, I also am going with the Pilot Powers. But for now, just put another B56 on the back.

I'm seeing wear bars at an even 4000 miles and ride semi-aggressively. Lots of twisties in my area so I at least get pretty decent wear all the way around. I'll go with another OEM BT56 this spring.

You'd be surprised at how often your rear tire is actually spinning, even at moderately high speeds . When you run thru the gears hard your prolly spinning the rear wheel and not even knowing it. One way to see this..do a good holeshot. Get your tire good and hot, Then hammer a few gears like you would getting on the freeway, or if your make a high speed pass down the road. You'll have the front wheel off the ground a good bit of the way. You don't realize your spinning the back wheel.....untill it is hooked up tight and NOT spinning

When I used my bike for commuting in stop and go traffic my rear tire wore down very fast. The wheel will spin some everytime you let the clutch out.

2500 is about all i can squeeze out of a rear tire, i'm currently running M-1's too, its toast at 2400. It is beyond me how in the world some guys claim to be getting 6-8000 miles out of a rear tire.

I'd have to agree.  Your post brings up the fact that our bikes are brutally powerful even in stock form and it will spin the rear tire without realizing it.

To make a long story short, it rained a bit today.  I rode a bit after the rain and the roads were mostly dry and damp.  I went WOT in 2nd gear and my rpm shot up from 3k to 8k and back to 5k but my back end didn't wiggle( or anything I could notice ) and it didn't feel like clutch slipping.  So my rear musta been spinning on the damp tarmac.

No wonder busas eat up rear tires we do small burn outs every time we are in 1 and 2nd gear, heeheeh

btw, I've decided to go with a stock oem/bt56 J spec rear when that wears out the front should be ready to go too then I'll replace them both with Pilot roads.
