2nd Gear Wheelies

I have a completely stock hayabusa with slip on cans and a Gipro (which functions as a gear indicator and smart TRE) I have about 19,000 on the engine and it is healthy as a hog. Heere is the question. How the hell do you get the front wheel of the ground in second without using the clutch?? I have experimented all over the place with it at so many different speeds. The front just won't come up. The bike is healthy enough to beat an 05 cbr1000rr and 02 R1 very consistantly from a 80mph roll ons so I dont think it is a issue of loss power. Any ideas?

get rolling about 6 or 7000 rpm snap the throttle shut and then quickly back to full throttle. oh and hang on!!!!

Send pics of whats left of your gear and bike after this little experiment. Just my opinion but this just seems to have "bad idea" written all over it. But if you do mess around I hope you stay safe.

i was riding wheelies with no clutch in 4th gear just bouncing it up on my 05... had full hmf and nothing else really at the time. you really just gotta et the revs around 7 or 8 k... pull back on the bars and give it a handful of throttle and try not to go over the back LOL. Although at high speeds, im not sure why, the busa likes to wobble.. something about aerodynamics of the bottom of the bike im not sure. need to really do a standup to control it.. sit downs at high speed will wobble. good times though lol. sit back, pull back, whack throttle open around 7 or 8 k should do the trick.

then this is what happens when theres a little gravel on the road as you wick it up.

Slide your azz all the way back to the hump.

You really need to be in the upright position, with your arms straight as well.
This makes for a bit better throttle control.

Before attempting this though.
Pre-order new fork seals and dust boots.

BTW the ground rushes under you pretty fast at 100 MPH.
It seems even faster with your front wheel at nose level.

Sounds like a lot of work to get it up on one in 2nd. I'm not to interested in being a dare devil but I was just puzzled on why it "wouldnt" come up. I figured since the gearing is shorter then the 1000's it would be easier in 2nd even considering it weighs a ton, it still has dang near 100 foot lbs of torque. thanks for the tips so far

yep sounds pretty "squidly" to me too... you need one of those little 600cc jerky boy bikes that wheelie by leaning back/dumping the clutch and throwing your bum off the back.... Busa is not a stunt bike any more than a Goldwing is....

i can lift my bua up no problem power wheelies. Full Tiforce Exhaust, Power Commander , 43t Rear Sprocket K&N air filter. And other lil bolt ons.

Along with being heavy, it's long and low. Neither of which is condusive to easy wheelies.
My ZRX1200 was known as a wheelie bike (first bike used in the Up On 1 wheelie class) and I still had to bounce it or use a lot of clutch to get it to stand up in second.
Just looks like a good way to tear a lot of stuff up on the Busa though.

Now days, I do all my wheelies on the other bike, it's very good at them, no matter what gear. If I fall I might get skinned up a little but seldom really hurt, and a complete new set of plastic costs $150. Also, there are no police to be found.

I never had a problem pulling any bike up in second. If it dont wheelie in second gear its not a real bike! Only my 600 dont wheelie in 2nd and its a track bike soo.. You need to tune something cause a busa should always come up in second with a hard pull on the bars.

That odd. Mine pulls right up in 3rd. And mine is dropped 2 in the frt. and 3 in the back.

Yhea it would be a little sad if it did not come up.

I have more of a problem keeping the Green Dragon down, just a little twist 1-3 and reach for the sky. Little harder in 4th but it will do it with a hard twist and a lttle delay, just be ready.
