maybe a silly place to be askin but I have looked everywhere for evidence about it but can't find any. But a few motorbike shops and a couple of friends have all said it .. when the superbikes (hayabusa, 1200 ninja's) are transported over here (australia) they have to cripple them *ie* drop 30% power from the bike!! due to the gornment saying if you are not going to use that power (speed) why have it !!! and I was wondering if it was true and if anyone has run into anything on this topic while they were surfing the net, if it is true is there anyway you can reverse the power ban (replacing fuel cpu or is it done through changing the bikes physical structure (smaller pistons or such

Um...  I am going to Call BS...  there are a Few Ausie Members around once in awhile, they have never mentioned ANY Mandated limits.  Check out a couple of your Ausi Busa board as well.  But I am about 99% certain that this is nothing more than a myth.  FWIW

Try This Hyper4you AustralianBusaBoard

Well I am based in Bombay(India) and had to import my bike. So when I was in the process of buying my bike from Singapore, I learnt that the 2004 bikes that were in stock or rather those, that were meant for the Singapore market, were Restricted models, low on the BHP , b’coz of certain Government norms. I was told that the BHP had been brought down to about 150 BHP as against the standard 175 –180 BHP. So, although I had paid the money, I insisted that they got me a fresh bike that was an Unrestricted model, meant for the European/ US markets, with the standard BHP. Now I don’t know if its fact or fiction, but its better to be safe than sorry. Atleast that’s how I look at it. I dont Know about Australia, but if you are planning on importing the bike, I would reccomend that you discuss this issue with your dealer.
