Ok guys I bought a Busa for my first bike ever, I have never ridden a bike before this. Since than I have had it for about 5 weeks and have put 1500 miles on the bike. I took it out to Englishtown raceway for a private JDM track event. Well first time ever on the 1320' on a bike I ran 10.6@136 MPH, 1.9 60' time. The bike has a full exhaust, K&N, and TRE. I think I did pretty damn good for my first time out. BTW- Street tire air pressue and stock height. God I love this bike, I'm glad I didn't go with any other bike. It's a match made in heaven. So what do you guys think of my results? It seems like it has the power to go 9's.

take the TRE off and you should be able to launch a lot harder. You won't even see 186+ on the 1/4 anyway.

Good job!

I've been a car guy and am new to the bike thing so can I ask the stupid question of why to take the TRE off?

Thanks dude...

BTW- What kind of prepping should be done to the bike to make it run a 9. Its a daily driver so I don't want ot comprimise drivability. Should I change the sprocket, strap the bike, etc...

Thanks for your input guys, I want a 9 lol

It's nothing more than a 2¢ resistor which hinders performance by keeping the 5th gear map through all 6 gears.

Practice. The bike can run high 9's right off the showroom floor.

Great times for such low saddle time. Unlike the fast car bit, breakin' 9's on a bike requires rider expirence. Im not saying driving a high hp car is easy. You will find more power added to your bike may even slow you down. Rider weight and bike set up is a big thing. I would say in your case you're doin quite well for now. Practice you short times and get your 60's to about 1.5 the rest will fall into place.

i think you did very well !! the bike has the power to go nines, strap the front, lower the rear, and practice,i don't know if e-town has changed, but atco was allways much more bike friendly for tuning and testing, good luck

True about Atco, but you have to admit they are the most inefficiant track ever. If some drops oil you might as well go home. I was just there last Thursday, a guy blew his 900 + hp supra and that was all she wrote. Atleast got two runs in.

Not me.I have always launched better with TRE's on the busa's.

First, get seat time which you are already doing.Buy or make some 3 hole dog bones (lowering links).Lower it all the way at the track, and in less than a few minutes, you can have it back to stock height.

Spend the $20 for a strap.
I have had my best luck with 17/43 gearing. But it will depend on your weight as to what is the best gera for your bike.
