I got caught in the snow storm. It took me 6 hours to travel 3.6 miles. Who else got caught?

First two pics is when it started to come down. Last one is where I got stuck for hours. I'm so glad to be home.

that just sucks!!!:banghead:

I can never really complain about commutes anymore. I was listening to a program on the radio how there's a road in China that is so congested that the commuters heading home to the burbs on Friday can sit in traffic for than a day! It's just a huge parking lot. People bring food, water and blankets on the commute. Some have to turn around and head back to work in the city without ever making it home. Granted it's China and who there is gonna complain about the infrastructure.:laugh:

Not this time bro, I stayed my monkey arse home yesterday bro...course all that got me was nagged to death by the mrs and the kid and the pleasure to do some shoveling:laugh:

Which is why today no matter how it was looking i was coming to work!

Stopped at Waffle House for lunch yesterday since work was closed in anticipation of the snow. It started snowing when we were finishing up, so we went off to the grocery to stock up. Spent about an hour and a half in the store, and came out to 3.5" of fresh snow on the parking lot. It took us roughly 40 minutes to get home, which is about 10 miles from the grocery. We turned around and gave up on 81 due to an accident, then had to detour around 11S due to another accident. The back roads weren't plowed, but there was no traffic so we had a relatively uneventful drive through some pretty scenery with all the snow.

I'm happy to live a little further out of DC. :)

I saw this on the news and cannot understand why they did not let people go home early. They new it was coming. Here they closed the schools 2 hrs early and started letting people go home 30 minutes after it started. I guess they will know nest time. Glad you mad it home safe anyway

6 hours, 3.5 miles. dang i would have parked and walked home. that's some bad traffic, we got the same snow down here that hit yall. glad you made it safe though:thumbsup:

Glad you made it home:thumbsup: That is a long time for 3 miles

hehehe you guys are funny...not used to a little snow hu? We get a crap load of it here in iowa all the time. Road guys are pretty good about getting it all cleaned up usually in a day or 2.If its 12" or more it may take a little more time but we have lots of tractors and endloaders that help out alot. Its funny watching the big scrapers go down the main streets here in town. They push piles of snow taller then my truck!

wow....i drive my ford tauras with bald tires through that crap every week....thats nothing!!
