6000k high 8000k low beam

I just put 8000k xenon bulbs for the low beam, and 6000k for the high beam. The low beam is really nice and blue. But when turn the high beam on (8000k) It doesnt' really add a lot of additional lighting to the road. It lights up road signs a mile away, but I just dont really see a big difference on the road. Is it possible to install them upside down... or anything like that? I didn't put them in. I know it takes about 10 second for the gases to get them to their full potential. Any input would be nice thanks

Your post is somewhat confusing. You start by saying that you have 8K low, 6K high. But then you continue and say that the low is the 8K and that you're not seeing the light output you expected.

First, are these HIDs or just xenon bulbs? If the latter, that's part of the problem. HID will put out FAR more light than halogen/xenon bulb.

Second, the larger the 'kelvin' number of the bulb, the less light it will put out. So, an 8000k will put out LESS light than the 6000k. 4300k is 'sunlight'. 6000k will have a slight blue tint to the light. 8000k should be fairly blue.

Hope this helps...

Aaah I did miss speak myself the 2nd time. I have 6000k for the high beams, and 8000k (which is more blue) for the low beam.
They are HID. They mounted the square things (I forget what they are called) on the intake tubes. I just went outside about 5 mins ago because it is pitch black out and played with it a little in the driveway. The high beam does show up a little past the low beam but its not nearly as bright. I remember on the stock setup that high beam would shine for a really long ways. thats why i was thinking it may have been put in wrong (if possible)

the HID high beam is a projector bulb if i am not mistaken (it is different from the low beam anyway)...your low beam spreads out more and really lights up the side of the road as well as in front of you...what you should notice if you get on a long straight (and your high beam is adjusted correctly) is the low beam will take care of your ordinary speeds but the high beam will, like you said, light the road to the next curve no matter how far it is...this comes in really handy at high speeds

Aah, so the high beam can be adjusted? the guy who put it in said he just plugged/snapped it into the hole and said there was no adjusting it. And right now my high beam isnt going super far in front of the bike like it used to thats why i am concerned, especially since these things are supposed to be 3x brighter. (the low beam is amazing) just the projector bulb seems to not illuinate much past the low beam.
