In my last post I had this issue with the tranny jumping out of 6th - soon after I started getting some chain noise going down the road - chain was reasonably clean and well oiled - I adjusted the chain this past weekend and my tranny started shifting great - no missed shifts when using the clutch into 6th. I am not sure why - but the result is that the shifts are better - I even tried to soft shift it / short shift it but had no ill result - any thoughts as to why this would help the shift??? The rear wheel axle tensioners had to come back about a turn each to reach the desired chain tension (so it was not too loose but enough to make noise at road speed). Chain maintenance a constant chore / necessary evil to keep the power to the pavement.
