99-07 vs 08 wheels

OK, another member and I are trying to figure out, are the 99-07 wheels and the 08 wheels interchangable, we want to put 08 wheels on a 99 and 99-07 wheels on an 08...

I looked threw the first few pages of threads and havent been able to find if anyone has tried this yet???

anyone know? if NOT then whats the mod necessary to do it? I thought i heard or read it can be done something about needing a longer or shorter axle on one of them???

please advise?

The only parts that look like they won't swap are the brakes for the front. You may have to swap forks to make it all work right.

Does anyone know any more about this? Someone said they thought the GSXR1000 wheels would work. Any confirmation?

Dunno, but if I ever get a 08 it will look like a 06LE when I am done with it.
