99 busa fi led flashing

Hey all!

1 year story short, we replaced a gsx1100 from a Campagna T-Rex for a busa 1300 and we're almost done! Only problem, we get The FI led flashing and the lcd display FI too. Obiviously, nothing was "bolt on" but we managed to make everything fit. Could any of you tell me what could be the cause for this? Before removing the engine, the bike was in working condition and wasen't showing FI. Now that we're almost done, we get this problem and there's no fire on sparkplugs but I guess the ECM is preventing this? I supose we missed something but honestly I have no clue on what that could be! Help? lol! Thx guys!

check your wiring harness and your ECU. One or both may be faulty.

Check the spark plugs to be sure that they're seated properly, check the coils to ensure that they're still good, check the wiring connectors on top to make sure that they connected right.

After all of that, make sure that none of the fuses are blown. I'm having the same problem on my 99. The FI light is goin off, but I don't know why. Pump is working, no missing connections.

You can also check the diagnostic plug located on the left side of the subframe. The plug will have white covers on the holes. Jump the two openings that don't have a plug in them and see what kinda code you get.

After you get the code, break out your manual and work from there.

Hope it all gets sorted out.

sweet! thx dude! I had c21 and c23 code and solved thems both! I get fire and all! But nwo I have another problem : Since the tank is far away and lower than the gas pump, is the pump enough to pull the gas all the way to the motor or I need to replace it? I have the one that came with the 1100 made by purolator but if I install it, do I remove the original one ?

The fuel pump works off of gravity, meaning the pump is placed lower than the tank so that the fuel can flow through the feeder line and into the pump.

You might need to relocate the pump for it to work properly. BTW, what did the c21 and c23 codes stand for? I've got an FI problem on mine too.

oh yah...I almost forgot. No probs, dood. Glad I could help.

In regards to the pump being far away, far away from what? Then engine? The tank? The engine and the tank?

If it's gonna be far away from the engine, I suggest you get a stronger pump, since you may run into injection problems.

Ya I had problems with the fuel... So I've connected the other pump and it works well now. It started on first try! C21 is for Air temp sensor (filter was removed so sensor was disconnected) and C23 is for tip over (disconected too lol!). The engine runs but as far as I remember, the noise wasen't the same as it is now. I think at least one cylinder is not working as it should. What steps I could do in order to find the problem over that? I already checked for spark and all is good and strong!

double-check your spark output. It could be possible that either

a) one or more coils are bad;
b) plug connector(s) is not sitting right/is going bad;
c) both;
d) incorrect tappet clearance (?) - I think;
e) possible shortage somewhere along the plug lines

From what I can discern, at any rate. Best bet would be to get your hands on a manual...that should help clear stuff up.
