this hurts!!! i went out to the garage this afternoon ready to get my ride on...beautiful day, sun shining, 77 degrees, slight breeze...Lucy was looking so good up on her stands just whispering my name...i let her off the stands and she isn't sitting right...

ANOTHER FLAT
mad.gif

this is the tire i just put on before the Bash at the end of March...it has approximately 1400 miles on it...the one i replaced in March had been on the bike for about 3 weeks and had around 750 miles on it...i guess karma is biting me in the rear (tire) for not being a better person

oh well, thanks for letting me rant...i'll get it fixed tomorrow and all will be well again

vman, i may be giving you a call...i can't find anyone around here who even carries the plug/patches and the z-rated ones i found on-line won't sell to the general public

here's a pic of the new flat sitting next to the old flat

That sux semi. It seems to be going around right now. Fortunately, my tire was going to need to be replaced this month anyway, so I didn't lose much.

That sucks Colen. I'm just about in the same boat. Wanted to ride today and during my pre ride inspection I see the cords on the rear tire. Guess I need to put the spare out of the trailer on it for the meet n greet. See you Thursday brother!

Maybe you should get one of those big magnets mounted on the front of Lucy. She seems to like nails.
Sorry bro. I have a battlax with about 1200 miles on it. Good shape as far as I know.

(KoK-LoL @ May 13 2007,18:30) Patch it & tube it.
vman pointed me toward a plug/patch combo that he has successfully used in the past...since he is more skilled than i and rides his bike harder, i figure i should be ok using the same device (if i can just find someone local who doesn't look at me and tell me that such a thing doesn't exist

(rubber2burn @ May 13 2007,18:flamethrowing:) Damn semi that sux man maybe you need to find another route or some thing.
left the house in the exact opposite direction and rode different roads with different people from last time...just my current run of luck...i guess i was about due since my last one before these was in 1987 when i slid my cage through a ditch

i can just see me trying to go across the bridge into Missouri and that magnet sucking down to the metal strip at the beginning of the bridge while Lucy's tail flies into the air and i go over the handlebars

if i can't get it fixed in time, i'll just change the rotor to the other rim and tire i have and mount it on the bike...i don't necessarily like that tire for twisties but i'm not missing the M-N-G!!!

update: i found a tech at a cycle shop who actually knew what i was looking for...the shop won't put it on because of liability reasons but he said he uses them himself and has never had a problem...so i brought it home and put the plug/patch on and just returned from having the tire mounted...here's hoping this thing works

here's a pic of the plug/patch...pretty cool gizmo

Semi, if it doesn't hold I've gort a usable rear that I can overnight you....but here's hoping that plug seals. Give the 'ole bath tub test...and don't forget the rubber ducky......

If you can't get'em fixed, let me know; I'll let ya ship 'em ta me
