Yeppers...y'all don't think I woulda left that easily, wouldja? Nah....I love you guys too much.
So what's the rundown? Well, let's see: I got sent to Reno, Nevada for training...was there from 05DEC to 11DEC. Got to meet up with Pacemaster and his friend while I was there...good stuff. Had dinner with him at the hotel. All in all, was great to hang around with him.
After Reno, I flew up to Redmond, WA. That's about 30 mins away from Seattle, in case you were wondering. Spent my time there with one of my best friends from high school and college. It was a rush...so many things to do, so little time!
I was supposed to meet up with scootergirl and a couple of other PNW folks, but that didn't seem to work out all that well. I guess that's what I get for coming in so close to Christmas. If you're reading this, scootergirl, no worries.
It was great just to chat with you on the phone. Perhaps another time.
So anyways...I figure I'll try an fly down to Portland to meet up with one of the big wigs. Cache was on my list...but that didn't work out either. I think good 'ol Cache money was a little busy. Not to worry, though. I guess it wasn't meant to be....for now.
On to option #3: I was trying to set things up for a trip to go see the board bastid, RSD. That one didn't pan out either.
Oh well...I knew it was gonnd be a real busy time of year, so I was expecting to have some plans shifted. A real bummer though....I was really looking forward to meeting up with the ol rascal.
And finally, one of my primary targets while I was out there: Revlis. Kinda funny actually. When I strolled up to the counter, he was in the middle of some stuff. SO I figured I'll make some small talk with him. Started talking about Suomy helmets, then ask him about the Arai's. Almost immediately the bastid refers me over to the girlies at the helmet department. I try to redirect the conversation, but he redirects right back to the girlies.
So much for that.
So I pull out the last stop: "How's Lilah doing?" He immediately stops and looks at me. "Excuse me?" I replied "I said, How's Lilah doing?" He gives me this sort of "just who are you?" look and waits for a reply. I look to the wall behind him and I see a NO2 bottle and a mini bike frame. Hahah...I figured I may as well say the right thing or else I'm gonna get clobbered by something behind that desk. Well, that's what I was gatherin from the way I he was lookin at me.
So I introduce myself and it's all good juju from there. Talk to him for about 45 mins, strolling around the shop, looking at stuff, catchin up with him. Ended up meeting him and Mrs. Rev at their house (I forgot that both he and the Mrs are gun enthusiasts) and took a look around. Lovely place....absolutely! I definitely loved their kitchen...nice and big...and well kept.
We head out to dinner at Sushi Zen...and spend more time catchin up and havin a blast. All in all a good time...a very good time. Well, except for when I lost that game of rock, paper, scissors. Don't think I've forgotten about that, Rev...
So anyways, I've rambled on enough. All in all? I'm glad I got to see the people I did...but I really regret not being able to meet up with the others. It would have been an honor.
I did manage to take some pics of the trip, though. I'll start it off. Man..it's good to be back home.
