I am wanting to go with a 10-12" stretched swingarm, but not sure if that is whats best for me. I have a JMC 0-5 or 6" right now. I don't want to go with wheelie bars on this bike but want to launch as much as I can. Is the 10-12" stretch too long or what are u guys thinking. Please don't flame this because I have been asking around and wanted to know what u guys thought about it.

how fast is your bike and how much hp?street/strip bike or all strip?do you run heads up or just bracket on the weekend?

Don't know. Saw two guys on Pinks with extreme Busas with no wheelie bars and very mild stretch.

The longer it is, the more wheel spin you will have. 300 hp does you no good if you can't put it to the pavement.

True words.

So what your saying is its not the size but how you use it?

If you can't catch the light and get a good launch without tire spin, you are not going to win a race and you will be inconsistent with your times. If you have a 6" over arm and you are hooking real good and have a problem with wheelies, then go bigger. A slight wheelie is a hell of a lot better than wheel spin. It is all about learning your rpm's and clutch usage off the line. I am more impressed by somebody with a stock arm running good times than somebody with a 9" arm running good times. I would try strapping the front end if you don't get any wheel spin.

Thanks guys for the info. My bike is strapped down in the front and lowered, but not slammed to the ground. It is a street/track bike that I'm building a little bit at a time. I want to do the normal upgrades to the motor work. i race the bracket racing at the local track. The slight wheelies don't bother me. I just don't really want to go with wheelie bars at this time while it is still my street bike. So u guys are saying I should stay with my swingarm that i already have on the bike. I was just wanting to go with a little longer swingarm, but I may not if you guys think other wise.

There is no better length on a Busa than 10' over for street and strip use. Mine used to be 6" over which was great for street racing, but still wheelied bad at the track just on motor. I then put a 10-16 adjustable arm on it and had no trouble hooking up at the track even at 16 over with a Shinko tire. Mind you, my shock had been revalved and resprung and I weight 205. I then pulled it back in to about 11 over to see how it acted and it was a beautiful thing. My 60' times were great and ET's were lower than ever. I think 10 over is perfect and looks great as well.
