Accessory plug

I was thinking of installing an accessory plug to run either my gps, radar, or whatever. Has anyone installed one and if so did you direct wire it to the battery, and if possible please post pic of installation and/or mounint location

I have one.

I ran hot and ground from battery through a switch to a power recptical. The power receptical I use for plugging in my cell phone or my 12 to 110 adapter to power my video camera.

I also have another wire I ran from the battery to my handle bars that is curently terminated, I am going to use that for the same thing you said, powering my GPS, IPAQ etc.

I will be seeing you at Street vibrations so you can check out what I have then if you can wait..

I dont have any pictures and there really isnt anything to take a picture of. I probably should have put an inline fuse somewere, but I didnt...

No, a switch is not needed, just paranoia of maybe leaving something connected and draning the battery. totaly not needed though.

Put a fuse on the wire to the battery. Never run directly to the battery without a fuse.
