With the standard headset I've been able to use it at speeds around 120MPH, but it picks up all the wind and other noise so you've got to shout. Also, since the level of sound also will trigger the VOX system you've got to turn the sensitivity way down and therefore to use it at triple digit speeds you'd have to shout to trigger the system at low speeds.
OR, you can use the included push button. But, the only place to mount it on the average sportbike is on the end of the grip -then activate it with your pinky.
There is a new headset available from Chatterbox that is noise-canceling. It costs $89.
The Pros:
-Reasonable cost
-Rechargeable
-Walkman input (auto mutes)
-2mile range (under perfect conditions), 1-1.5mile range typical
-Can use a cheap FRS hand-held to communicate to it.
The Cons:
-It's designed to mount to your helmet, and though you can get the extensions so that you can mount it elsewhere, you need access to the controls if your riding conditions (speed) change drastically to prevent excessive yelling.
- There's no radar detector input!!!
