Admin Support

Do you really have the support of Admin that you "think" you do?

I thought we had support, but after this drama, I have doubts as to how well we can expect to have Admin's support.

No, Just let it go. It's OK for someone to post up to the board asking for money and casually throwing out the name of a respected board member. It doesn't really matter that he went through two weeks of hades because of it and it's irrelevant that it caused tension among a LOT of board members. Scamming for money is illegal... sure but who cares.Does it really matter if we allow the board to become an open target for scammers... I think not. I have a GREAT IDEA, Lets all just start sending money to whomever asks for it. We certainly wouldn't want to insult someone by asking for proof of their claim!

OR

Send every and all pieces of information that can be found to the proper authorities and send a very loud and clear statement that those kinds of actions will carry severe penalties. I'd also like to see something happen to the LV Purse scammer! That wasn't cool either

I see both sides of the coin here! Doug (Capt) gives freely of the site to all of us! I think the site was taking up a lot of his family time/personal time and originally started out as a hobby! I believe this is why he moved most of the hardware out from his place. Now, I'm just speculating but I truely believe Doug doesn't have the time or resources to check out this or any suspcious story we come across at the Org. He depends on the most part for "Us" the clubmembers to regulate the site and ourselves.. Now for the flip side, could someone other than yourself came forward to try and resolve this issue! Sure, but they didn't have to as the site and its members used sound judgement and questioned the validity of the original statement! I don't fault anyone for anything! So far nothing bad has came of this, less some hurt feelings and a few members credibility getting slandered! I applaud your intense effort utilizing your own resources and time to help the "Org" get to the bottom of this.... I don't however agree that the admin in anyway contributed willingly to the neglect of this site or its members.

As long as we protect the people of the board itself, I think we've done all we can do at this point. If "the man" gets to the point where they can justify filing criminal charges, they'll subpoena the IP addresses or whatever else they need from the board admin. Aside from that, I'm jazzed that Stkr did what he did; we of h.org are much better off for it as a result. That's what concerns me the most.

For lack of a better word (I don't really believe in such things), karma will bite the scammer in the azz eventually. With rare exceptions, these things have a way of working themselves out for better life balance in the long run. I find that comforting.
