After failed (luckily) hotwire theft - no juice...

An attempted theft on my busa has left it inoperable. They broke the lockset (possibly by pouring liq N2). Then the thieves cut all the wires next to the lockset except the black (ground) wire, bundled the rest and attached a wire from the bundle to the hot end of the battery. This turns it on, but flashes the FI light. It'll turn over, but not fire (no gas - possibly not engaging the fuel pump). I bought a new lockset and installed it, but when I turn it on, I get no juice ... nothing turns on. I checked the 10A and 15A fuses, but they are all fine. Any ideas? I don't want to take it to a dealer and get raped for something (that's hopefully) simple. Damn thieves. Thanks in advance for any ideas/help.

I have no idea on your problem but glad to hear they didn't get away with it.

The ignition switch is in the lockset, correct?  The old lockset is trashed (when they broke the steering lock mechanism, they broke the pot metal casing), so I bought a new lockset and therefore the anti-theft device wouldn't be triggered.    I just downloaded a 99 busa service manual so that I can look at the wiring schematics ... any advice at where to look/replace would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks for your comments Johnnycheese.

under you rear seat at the front left corner, there is 2 wire harness that has a small cover on it with no other harness plugs in to it. turn the ignition on & crank the engine for atleast 4 seconds, then ground the 2 wires in that plug. after you ground the wires while the ignition is on, check you LCD screen "where your clock is". it will say C..
that is a code set by the ECM, let me know what is the # of the code.

somewhere you have an orange wire with a white tracer broken or something is unpluged.
I didn't see you bought a suzuki switch

Thanks all - the bitch is running again ...

Lucky for me the ignition theft deterent stopped the f**kers from stealing my bike.  The failed hotwire blew a fuse, melted a wire, and tried to bypass the theft deterent, but was unsuccessful.  If you have a similar situation please email me and I will try and help you.  Once again, Thank you all.
