First--is your bike stock otherwise ?? if you have no others mods, or maybe slips on's..which give no power gain..cooler sound is OK. Do not modify the air box...
you will lose some of the awsome low end torque between 3 & 5 K revs. I regret doing the mod....myself... Not to sound sarcastic..who are we to try and out engineer the great people who designed this awsome scooter..Mods done correctly do help overall performance..but must be done with a special skill many of us do not have...
