Air ride kit?

Instead of lowering my bike I'm contemplating going with an air ride kit. I heard that they've pretty much solved the problems with too soft or too harsh a ride. Can anyone make a recommendation for a specific brand?

wow im surprised knowone has givin you any info yet...how about a bump huh!

looking around i think one with a dual air chamber is the way to go....dont know a brand, i know there are some recent threads from the last week or too do a search on it...i know for a fact i read something just last week someone put air ride on the back....

Call the shop we carry three brands, let me gives you the pro's and cons of an air ride. :beerchug:

I saw a kit on your site. I was planning on asking you about it when I called tomorrow to order the other stuff.

Dapincci....dual chamber....and love it all the way. Slam to park or tool, then raise it up to twist:beerchug: Think Spinwurkz.com has it chromed for under $900.

MBP has dual chamber system...member here ( he makes them )

FX has new air with 4 chambers but pricing.

The dual chambers lets your have low high setting and then adjust the compression/rebound also.

If you need more info ask away. I have many threads on here about air ride,,,,from my install to digi monitoring guage set up, and the instant up mod I made. Search Youtube for Bigrod330 and you will see full walk around of the MULLET and the air-ride / instant up features.:beerchug:

can you convert a single chamber to dual chamber--I want to add the rebound as my ride is too soft--and I would like to ride it lower but the soft ride doesn't allow me too without rubbing my undertail...or would it just be cheaper to buy a new 2 chamber system..thanks

Even if you just swap out the single chamber for a dual chamber cylinder...you will still need a second valve controller. If you want to tool out of a lot with the air all out....get the all thread adjustable links. With the air out adjust the links so the tail sits 1/4 inch off the tires. ALways good thing incase you blow a line anyhow. THis will let you ride all the way down, but with no air in the cylinder...small bumb and you will fly up then slam down ( thats hard on the cylinder.)

Yes there are air- ride front forks. The only ones out now are single chamber and no adjustment for stiffness/ rebound control. Equals...NOT for street riding. MBP has been working on a dual chamber air fork and expects it be ready mid to end of summer. Hit him up...member here.:beerchug:

I believe the Tricky air is only single chamber? But if thats what you want...I know someone that will sell you theres. He wants a dual chamber air.

Yes you can convert a single chamber system to Twin chamber system, would need the wiring harness, valve manifold (including the compressor to suit these) and associated fittings and tube. This way would be cheaper than buying a new Twin chamber system and a lot easier to install.

Yes there will be controllable air suspension forks out this year, its a little slower than i expected in this last phase of the product development but we are moving forward. Sorry guys i can't post up any pics or vids at the moment as im going through getting patents for my air suspension fork system as soon as they are in effect they will be released and pics and vids will be available.

My system is a kit that converts factory forks to air ride. Air controls the height / preload, will also have an option of an air adjustable remote reservoir and you retain the hydraulic circuit of the fork so you have the compression and rebound control as you would adjust your factory fork. In my testing i have ridden the twisties just as hard as i would with the standard forks and got to some pretty low lean angles. The kit is designed so there are NO modifications to the fork.

Pricing on the kit has not been finalised as yet Hectic, but as this is a kit that is installed into your existing forks its going to be a lot cheaper than a set of new air suspension forks.

Cheers,

Matt

MBP & BigRod1300 - thanks for sharing all of this information with all of us hear. It's good to hear about different products available for the busa folks. It seems very honest and non biased which makes this thread even more valuable. :beerchug:

Thanks a ton, please keep us upto date. If I can still ride the twisties hard, and slam it for bike night, that would be awesome! PM sent

Hey Matt...with the air-ride in the rear and your air-ride in the fornt, I will NOT need your air kickstand. Just a good plate under the MULLETs belly:laugh: When I park.
