Air ride losing air

My bike has been in storage since November. I went to work on my bike, lifted the air ride to the max and watched it slowly lower itself for 4 minutes until it was bottomed out. Any thoughts? Don't tell me it needs to be replaced, I dont want to hear it.:please:

I remotely lifted my bike to the max so I could work under the tail end. The air cylinder (air ride) wouldn't stay up, it gradually lost air pressure and lowered itself until it was bottomed out. Could it be something other than the cylinder leaking?

Did you leave the air cylinder pressurized when you stored it? If so, the seals are probly toast and you'll need to rebuild the air cylinder. Or your compressor seals are leaking.

I released all of the air out of the cylinder by lowering it all the way so there was no air or pressure in the cylinder. Its only been stored in the garage for about a month. I think it might be something simple but Im not sure.

Check the O-rings at the fittings, and make sure the fittings are tight enough. You can pump it up and put a little bit of soapy water on the fittings to look for air bubbles. Mine leaked off a couple months ago. I had a fitting going to air preasure gauge leaking.

Soapy water everywhere. If it's a bad leak you might not get bubbles, but you should hear that one. Good Luck

Good luck man, and let us know how it turns out, and whatever you do don't post pix

:worthless:

CHeck all the lines, valve controller, then the cylinder. To check the cylinder...make up a fitting with jair gauge and that will let you input air thu a valve like a tire and normal compressor. If that pressure drops...its in the cylinder. IF ends up good. its in the lines or valve controller. The pressure drop ov the valve controller may be leeking ( stuck open due to cold weather). Let us know what you find. I have the MULLET stored with some air but not up in pressure for the winter.

Started it, let it warm up real good. It lost air a couple of times. I lowered it and raised it about a dozen times. Raised it up one last time waited about 10 minutes, and seemed not to be lowering by itself anymore. Maybe the cold weather had an effect on it, like it does everything else. I cant wait to move away from this weather. Some of you guys are so lucky you dont have to deal with it. One of these days, outta here!

Thats a bad looking bike. Do you have any other pics of it? Always looking to spend more money on mods. Thanks for the help with the cylinder. Preciate it!

Just search for post by Bigrod1300...im all thru here.:beerchug:
You can also search Youtube for " Bigrod hayabusa" I have several vids of the MULLET at the drag track, full walk around vid, and instand up air-ride set up.
