Any one know what size air cylinder it takes to go from the motor mount nut
to the shift lever? I'm thinking it's about a 3 inch stroke cylinder.Reason I'm asking is i got one laying around it seems to be correct but wanna be sure before i drill and tap the nut.My other options is to go from the oil pan area with a bracket and put a tab on the bottom of the bracket at the spline d area.
Thankx,maddog

i would think no matter how you mount it your screwed because from the farthest point the shifter can move is still only about 3/4 to 1n1/2inch from its resting position to shift up

I borrowed this picture from pashnits web site..you can see they have a very short stroke, and if you think about it, --the farther it has to move to make the shift the slower they shift will be

Look at schnitz racings website and the
Lee's brackets. I made two sets very
similar to them. A 3in stroke will be
more than necessary because like DJ
said, you only need .75-1.25 or so of
travel. As long as your brackets don't
put the ram at the end of its travel
you'll be fine. Keep in mind the 1-2
shift requires more throw(especially under load).
