Air Shifter

I have never really been interested in dragracing with an airshifter till the Busa came along.
1. How do they work?
2. Do they work O.K for regular street application?
3. Who makes the best one? MRE?
Frank or Anyone?

I use the Mre jr. and the onboard compressor on my busa and turbo bike. Never had a problem with either one. Can't go wrong with MRE.

MRE jr. air shifter kit with DOT aluminum tank (part number from schnitz 200-000A)is retail $269, cycle stuff price $255, members price is $195. And that comes with fittings. The electric over air(200-000D)is (r)$293 (C S)$279 and (m)$180

Frank,
Can you use Terry's swingarm for the air shifter? or do I need a tank?

schnitz also has a kill wireing harness for about $20.00 so you can use a air shifter you have to use something like this because of the stick coils for bikes.

Ditto on that MRE.JR> have one customer with it that drag races.Istalation on the hoses and size of hose is very important. It works GREAT!!!!!

TeamHayabusa: Terry Macintosh's arm has a Air Tank built in the arm.

Plus, you'll get the option of either a Battery box or a Nitrous Bottle holder.

...Frank

turbo 1300 did you have any problems wireing up you air shifter, where did you mount your bottle ? is it a electric over air system ? do you think you could send me a wireing digram on how to do it. thanks burt any help would be appreciated.

My bottle and compressor is stuffed in the tail end of my bike. I have to raise the hump every time I need to fill my bottle. It sucks that way but I'm not the one who put it there. That was another one of SBM famous f-ckups, but it does work well. You will never get it to work right without the MPS kill though.

burt, the mps kill box works great!
frank, is the bottle made in the swingarm or is there just a bracket or stand for the air bottle?

Turbo1300, It's an AIR TANK built in the arm that is part of the bracing.

Between the AIR TANK and REAR TIRE is where the battery box or Nos bottle goes.

Personally I wouldn't have a battery box in my swingarm. I think it looks like crap...

Nitrous Bottle or nothing is the way I feel.

Honestly, Have you seen a better looking arm for the money?(my opinion)

Nope, can't say I have. You have one great piece of art underneath you when you are on your bike. Can't wait to have one myself.

The schniz wiring harness does not work the fuel injection light still comes on and the kill time is to long or at least thats what happened when I tried it.

did not know that about the sniltz wireing harness, i wonder if the mps unit does the same thing or does it work proper ? anybody know for sure

3 way toggle switch wired into your horn is the cure for that one.

switched up to activate compressor.

switch down to activate horn or whatever.

the switch to the compressor is sitting right next to the bottle. Explain the logic in that please??? Is anyone going to try? Suckerbike Mike can't even explain that.
