They gave the USAF Tanker deal to Airbus.........

What is this country doing to itself.

Y'know, when you buy your Michelin Pilot Powers, you're doing EXACTLY the same thing.

Think on this.

So true with almost anything of late.... But, when it comes to defending the Freedoms we so enjoy I say we must draw a line. Those jobs and US pride should stay here, in the USA! Sorry, but France based EADs isn't deserving of one US defence dollar!

Not to mention, why would we let the country with the least successful military in history build any equipment for us?

Okay, I know it isn't relevant but it's funny!

40 Billion wasn't it.

Don't forget about the over 800 Billion owed to the People's Republic of China, in loans and insentives to support maunfacturing of good to be imported back into the U.S.

Hopefully, a new administration will recognize the problem's and get things back on track.
Trouble is it's gonna take Generations to clean up what was done in 7 years.

Blame Northrop-Grumman's lobbyists as they are responsible for this due to the parternirship with EADS.

That hurt this area a ton. ALCOA was to supply most of the aircraft quality aluminum and another local company here, Carlton Life Support (Big Show is a machinist there) supply alot of the intricate parts in the life support systems on the military aircraft, were going to be big players for the boeing project.

Like KS said it is really distrubing that our money is going to an overseas company for this huge contract. I know that there are other systems that we buy from other countries but for something of this magnitude it should have stayed in the US. granted Northrup Gruman is a partner to EADS but the over 40Billion is still going to a foreign country which I feel is wrong. I know it sounds crazy but what the hell were our military officials thinking awarding the contract to another country?

I don't care if they are building a plant in America to do this cntract the money is still going to a European country and that IMO is wrong!!!!!!!!

What should we call them?

I don't think there's anything that I HAVEN'T called them over this nightmarishly long eight year boondoggle, but if you think swearing at them some more will help I'm completely willing to continue; at least it's fun.

3,000 jobs in the USA...... Wow, that should REFUEL the US economy! Vs the 55,000 Boeing would have got, not to mention the $40 billion staying here. Hey congress are you listening to what some of the military leaders just did? 55k paying taxes for the next forty years or ship all are $ and jobs over sea just like everything else!

Same issues when the Berretta 9mm came into service. Great pistol, cheap price. Plant relo to Maryland.

Remember, #2 is may be working harder. Stay focused.

Anything made for the US government must be made on US soil. I work at BAE systems. British owned, operated in Pennslyvania. We build Bradleys, MRAPS, M109's, and M88 Recovery tanks. We also weld the hulls up for the Marines AAV. They also make alot of other stuff we use. Happens everyday, welcome to the monster that is the global economy.
