Anyone know where to get amsoil for a reasonable price is Canada, 15 bucks a liter is not a fair price to me. Thanks
yep but the shipping to Canada is the killer.$8 a quart is reasonable.
The price of getting things shipped into Canada is what raises the price so high. Use to work for a large freight company and people would be shocked to see how much it was to ship cargo into canada.
Amsoil is a good oil, so is Mobile 1. Both are grade 4 synthetics but if you really want the best go for a grade 5 like Red Line or Motul 5100, they are a little bettor...Stay away from Castrol syntec and and most other lower cost synthetics because they are not synthetic at all. They are highly purified dino oil and the US goverment in 1999 ruled they could market there oil as synthetic even though it's not after Moble 1 sued Castrol for there false clames. Only in the US can a grade 3 oil be marketed as a synthetic. In Europe and Japan it must be 100% synthetic base stock(grade 4) befor it can be called a "SYNTHETIC"Personally I would pay the extra 3 dollars a quart for Amsoil. Could I honestly say it was THAT much better than Mobil 1? Hmmm tough question, Mobil has an excellent reputation and what my wife's new Mercedes calls for, so you can't really argue that.
However, I would love to know if Royal Purple is as good or better than Amsoil? I don't pay a lot of attention to that oil study that is out, that was done by Amsoil so of course they are going to come out great.
I use Amsoil and think it is wonderful, however if there is better, I wouldn't care if it was 20 bucks a quart. Any opinions?
