Android screen install. Pics and a question.

I bought one of those Android/Apple screens from Aliexpress. Super cheap, about $110Aud. It came with front and rear cameras, tire pressure sensors and a very handy and glove friendly button interface. The screen is a little over 6 inches, which is big enough to be functional but small enough not to get in the way.

Without pulling the fairing apart I connected it all up to see if it will work, and it does brilliantly! So I thought I'd share a couple of pics and thoughts here.

Firstly, for those with a little bit of sparky knowledge I have a question: for the power connection, there is positive (permanent power), negative and a third line that works to only power the device when the bike is on.

Question is – does anyone know where the third line goes? I powered up with it directly on the +ve battery and of course it all works, but then doesn't switch off when the bike is off.

As for the unit itself, without pulling the fairing out, I connected it up, added the camera and the remote control thingy. It’s not only simple, but it works brilliantly.

Cameras: high res looks geat. For the install, the rear camera will go on the R&G tail. The front - I've tested and it can see pretty clearly through the stock windscreen, so I think I could probably install it on top of the fluid reservoir with a little double sided tape. (or any other suggestions?)

Remove control- fits snugly on the clutch slide of the bar.

Functionality - you can add a memory card so it records like a regular dash Cam. I'll do that once everything is installed. The rest is pretty straight forward, connects easily to the phone (wireless). The display is android auto, or you can have the cameras live.

So far seems like a pretty decent buy.

What will not work is the holder/bracket. There is no way to attach it. But I'm sure it's going to work with some other phone holder that I can tweak or break.

A few pics below.

If I had to guess I would say a switched power supply. Something that only has power once the the key is turned on. Like your license plate light.

Red should be constant power yellow is switched 12v when the key is on and black is ground. That's usually how they go but the instructions should tell you for sure.

When I installed mine you had a constant keep alive 12V si that it saved its settings all the time. Then you have the turn on 12V that starts the display etc when you key on.

Yes that's it for sure, but specifically where does it attach?

Looking at the manual the license plate light has 2 wires. One is gray and the other is black and white. Tap into the gray one. You could also get a fuse tap and plug in to fuse 10. I don't know what size fuses the 23s use but it would be something like this. Bussmann ATM Fuse tap
