After riding old school Triumphs and Harleys for over 28 yrs
I gota a itch for a completely different type of ride. I'm still a die hard Harley rider ( 05 Springer softail classic ) But I Found and bought a 2006 Hayabusa Limited with 1K miles on it. Still keeping the Harley. Yes the Busa is completely different and fun as hell to ride. So I have many questions on upgrades. So I asking for some help.
I love the low rumble of the busa at idle but it needs to be louder going down the road without being obnoxious .
any pipes or slip ons that will let me be heard but not hated.
I heard alot of name of pipes out there but don't know what the will sound like on my bike. I heard HHRs slip ons and did not like the high pitch sounds coming out of them at high rpms and they were to quit at low rpms
Any suggestions

Also I do not like the goverment telling me my bike is only allowed to do 186 mph when it can really go faster. I heard of TRE (Timing Retarder Eliminator ) Do they work are there real ones out there or are they just a scam knowing that most people will never go beyond the 190 mark . I see some things on E-bay but don't know which one work.
Any other reasonable upgrades ( toys) that can be done to have my bike be alittle different and better performer
not interested in NOS or Turbo
I know alot about harleys but not to much on the hayabusa so any help I will take
thanks

Welcome and congratz on your purchase/transition! Great looking scoot - but, it isn't the government that restricted your bike, it was the big three sportbike companies that did it. Brocks, HMF, Devil, Two Brothers are a few that will be mentioned.. Yosh are popular as well... more people will chime in here... but for now, welcome!

There are a few videos of exhaust sound clips I have posted on here.
Do a search for them.
Here's a pic of the brock street megaphone.

to the Gang, and yea a TRE does eleminate the restriction. It does it by making the computer think your still in 5th gear when in 6th. And Pipes, well

you'll need to just make your Busa rounds and see what you like. Me, I really like the Two Brothers Carbon Fiber, BUT

they're just tooooooo Loud for my type of riding. Yoshi, are good and others are just as good. You just need to decide just what you want from them. Sound, Performance, Looks or all three. Because if you want performance you'll need to do the Air Box mod, Par Mod, add a PC with your single sided FULL EXHAUST system. Just do a search and you'll see there are 1000's of threads on this subject.

Here's Hoping you'll find what you want, and if not, just ASK US AGAIN . We're full of answers whether or not we know what we're talking about

) lol jes messin w/ya dude.

yeah the TRE is real n does remove the restrictor-but honestly?? if you just bought that Busa-I dont care how long you've been riding, this bike will take your butt back to school if you start messin w/top speed runs right now....take some time get used to the bike first, mebbe hit the strip and see what she'll do as-is, or grab a strap kit n drop tire psi a bit-dont need to go makin HUGE changes just yet.
This bike is MORE than capable of showin you triple-digits fast enuf to make you wet yourself, unless you used to driving 9-sec strip cars and running 180 mph in, well....anything else???
wow.gif

leave the land-speed racing alone for a bit and just enjoy the Busa at 60mph for awhile.

or you can do like me-ride the bike for three months, ride flat-out with no lid, then hit the twisties cuz you think you're GOD on 2 wheels n take a header at 50mph into grass n dirt (i slid a good 100') while cracking up your brand-new bike.
Spend the next 3 months wasting all your Mod-money on replacement parts and paying bills since your crippled azz cant work, and then maybe you'll be able to ride for 2 weeks before the winter sets in (i live in WI).....OR
do what I originally said, and have a MUCH nicer lookin bike- love that White LE, BTW-sweet colors bro.
