any 1/4mile before and after on 16/42s sprockets???

I went 16/43 over the last season and all I really noticed was being able to come out harder and going through the traps in 5th instead of 4th. It also pulls much harder on spray.

I'm running 16/44. The biggest improvement is in getting the clutch out faster. With stock gearing, your still sliding the clutch at the 60 ft mark. With gearing, you can get it out in half the distance. Its just easier to ride, but I wouldn't expect huge et improvments.

for me 16-40 works better than 16-42 but I am only 185 fully suited I was 9.60 flat all day with 42t went to 40t and 9.40's all day same night plus lost 1-2 mph with the 42t b/c extra shift and not topping 5th gear, shift was too close to the traps, every bike and rider is different this is just my story

Depends on quite a few things. I am waster with a 45t now than a 42t. I dropped a tenth first day out. I also ran faster with a 42t than a stock 40t. I am over 220 suited though.

I am about 311lbs w/o gear!!! My best time before I went one tooth down in the front was a 11.4, the first time I ran it with the 16 tooth I managed to get a 10.92! I really need to work on losing some pounds on myself so I can really get some nice times!
