Excellent! Thanks Pete! I don't get my busa untill January, I am just curious as to what to be prepared for. I know on my GSXR1100 I had to really crank up the front forks. But it will still be nice to switch to a newer system. Once I get the bike I will call on you for some suggested settings as suspension can sure be a headache if your not careful.

MAN! This is going to be a LONG winter with a new busa in the garage with 0 miles on it!!

P.S. Post or send me your email (mine is in the profile) I have a "RoadKill" picture for you I think you will like..

....'Pete almost get Hapo all the way into 1st person! Not easy to do! Good info, you canuc prig, glad to see you bounce back to "normal"...

Anybody who can use the word prig properly doesn't need to be referring to themselves in the third person, you yank self-calumnist :)

BULLDOG, please figure a way for everyone to see your bike (a quite horny dark blue GSXR1100) and that Road Kill pic...I almost blew chunks when I saw this thing. Some very large rat...a wet raccoon I think, that was banged on the center line and then a road crew came along and just PAINTED YELLOW LINES RIGHT OVER THE CORPSE.

God I hope this is not the way I go.

Actually Pete, that was a poor picture, the bike is '95 Ford Mustage Purple, with custom neon yellow, reflective silver decals I made myself! (Similar colors to the 95 CBR900 - but brighter!) Definitely says trouble all over it.

Give me some feedback! What changes would you have to make to the bike to make it a better ride for a big guy??

Can the suspension be diailed in enough? Or will I need to change springs etc.

Are Gen-mar risers/Extender Windshield a must for tall/wide riders??

Any feedback will be appreciated....

I saw that pic the other day DP. It had a caption which read something like "It's not my department's job".

Bulldog you sure picked the right bike for a very big guy like yourself. Lots of torque and chassis strength, and the suspension is VERY adjustable.

You want to progressively dial up your pre-load on front and rear until it feels tight and has sufficient road clearance on corners for you, starting with a very big jump at first, especially on the front.

Your total weight is about the same as an average male-female two-up riding situation, but the difference is that you'll be weighing down the front more than two up would.

If you are currently at stock settings and would like some specific pre-load settings to start with, I would be happy to suggest them.

You will probably also want to increase compression damping significantly over factory settings.

I have the Genmars. They're not about rider size, they're about long distance comfort and to a lesser extent turning leverage. They'll put your head higher up if anything.

zerogravity-racing.com has a taller-than-stock Sport Touring screen that should allow tall guys like you to see the whole instrument array, and will certainly give you more wind protection. $70 American plus plus.
