Going from desert climate to humid climate, but it will be a good move for you. Congrats on your new assignment, just remember that an assignment is all what you make of it.

EDIT: Make sure you get in touch with TMO as soon as you get your orders in hand. The downsizing throughout the military has really made it hard for TMO to do their job in an effective way. Of course, if you decide to do a DITY move, you only have to rely on yourself.

Well I'm actually being discharged because of the rollback Obama put in place so I'm going guard there.

My advice is don't buy for a while. Florida is so overrun with prescription drugs it's ridiculous. To sum it up, there is more going on in FL then the other states combined.

There are a lot of good people on the chopping block in the USAF right now, it is sad to see this happening. The Army just recently released their downsizing numbers as well, should be interesting over the next couple of years to say the least. Hopefully this shift in career/life goes along with some of your personal goals.

Unfortunately I took the rap for a couple good guys during an engine run thinking it wouldn't go as far as it did but next thing I know (and this is LOOOOONG story VERRRY short) I ended up losing a stripe which even every person in upper supervision disagreed with along with ADC's disagreement. ADC told me to go to court's martial and then told me to appeal the decision. I decided not too and I'm taking the HYT pay and going reserves or guard and try to get an ART job or an A&P job. Either way, I need a JOB! I have a family to support and I need to also get a house with my wife, 3 kids, and 4 dogs. I think we'll be fine, but this thread is about getting a house (and a job if someone has one for me).
