ANY FACTS ON 2000 BUSA .

During my multiple state search for my
Busa (found one!) a few weeks ago one of
the Suzuki dealers in Dallas said he thought
there *may* be some different color(s) and
said he was anticipating a price INCREASE.
He had no Busa to sell me so he wasn't trying to pressure me into buying one he had now -in fact he told me to get on the list for 2000 now to be assured of getting one.
He told me about one Dallas dealer who sold his last one for $12.5K since there were
NONE to be found in the Dallas/Metro area.
There were also NONE to be found in my state. Fortunately thanks to Jeff W's info I bought one from his dealer near KC. The Dallas dealer said speculation for year 2000 models would be confirmed in September so nothing is "certain" at this time.

Saw an adv. in some magazine talking about "for 2000 the light gets brighter" and
had a picture of a busa. Does this mean they will increase hp? I know that the 750 will get a make over (have the busa look).
I doubt that they will increase the cost of a Busa, it's just something Suzuki does not do.
BTW, Olathe has 2 Black/Silver in stock, Suzuki told my dealer there are no more for this year. If it's not on the showroom floor, then it won't be showing up till 2000.

I saw the service notice, and they put it out to insure that the nice little nut was not scratched. So it was not even for technical reasons.

Suzuki will release a new GSXR750 and a Special GSXR750SP(R7 abuser), Information on these new bikes are available on the Brit web sites. I talked with my dealer today about Y2K bikes, he will know nothing till september. I inquired about a ZX12 deposit today with my dealer (Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki) and he told me Kawasaki first year bike's usually are plagued with RECALL's. How many recall have we seen with our Busa's (0). The only service notice I understand was for proper torque of the triple clamp stem nut.
(I was going to buy the ZX12 to sell, not to ride, better my sister in a Harley Rendevous *service* tent than ride a Kawasaki).

Here's what I know on the 2000 Hayabusa: A very slight increase in power (less than 5bhp) and the bronze colour scheme being dropped (in the UK at least). There's no word on what colour will replace it

Re. Price Increases.
In UK, Suzuki have just increased the price of the Busa by £200.

I have seen the original letter to my dealer.
It states this is due to the demand for the bike - and bluntly states that the Dealer should not notice any effect on his sales as the bike is so popular.

Suggested new slogan for Suzuki:

Suzuki - a caring sharing company for the new Millenium !!!

You all will know in September. New 600, 750 with Busa styling & more hp, & different color scheme(s) for the busa.

no price increase
that would piss off the industry
the XX came down to 10,499
and kawasaki will HAVE to find a way to sell the ZX-12 at that price too (if they ever build the bike)
