Need some painting tips, I have a big compressor and good Devilbiss HPLV gun, with different nozzle needle sizes.

Where do you buy your medicine (Paint)?

Do you use a different type of paint on the steel tank compared to on the plastics?

What tape do you use to get sharp separation lines between colors.

What primers to use?

If you do not have a water collector or some form of a dryer get the inexpensive kind that screw on just prior to the gun. That will solve some contamination issues. There are plastic additives to promote adhesion + allow the paint to flex...some people swear by them and some do not use them...I believe that they are one more thing to buy + bring on their own set of issues. I'd suggest going to a body shop and buy their better / best line of materials and you get better results.

They will have the tape that works best for designs as would an art supply place...the same paint can be used over metal or plastic.

Are you upainting over a raw plastic part or something that was previously painted?

Prep is the key and painting is the easy part

Definetly use the orange bubble for water and oils.
primers, urethane. Tape, blue fine line. Adhesion promoter everywhere u have bare plastic. I always use flex additive. epoxy primer on bare steel. base and clear are the same for both. I would look for a finishmaster store in your area for materials. Good luck!
