Now that I’ve used my .25c word for the week, anyone here like scotch? Myself I like Mcallen12 and The Glenlevit 18. However for my 50th birthday my wife got me this. I was finally able to go see my parents today and cracked open the bottle with my dad. He does not drink anymore and he is very ill but I had a sip with him. A memory I will always get to have.

That looks awesome. I also like McCallen 12 and Glen 18. I always keep a bottle of Blue (JW) around too. My go to for "everyday" would be Talisker 12 or 18. I also really am liking JW Double Black...cant stand reg black, and I am not sure why they are so diff. I do like the more smokey flavors, but dont smoke cigars...go figure!
Really cool that you got to share that with ur pops. Cool memories right there. Hope his health improves.

Forgot to add a funny story.
My brother and sister in law came to visit a few years ago. My brother and I left for a few days and the girls had fun raiding the liquor cabinet. Next day my wife tells me that " the drink that comes in that cute little coffin was so yummy!" I said, what?! U tried my Blue? She said, well we kinda got drunk and then drank it all too. I told her that they just drank $200 worth of scotch. She said, "Oh."

I like blue, but fortunately I like green more! I'm like you Troy, I like the smoky ones, I'll try what you drink next go round.
And I just realized I spelled Johnnie wrong.....

Never tried the rare cask but bet it's awesome. Mac 12 year and a good cigar brings smiles.
Great you made memories with your dad :beerchug:

Don’t drink scotch but if there’s a celebration or gathering amongst friends. I try to find a bottle of this stuff......

Oh Yes That IS THE STUFF!!! Hard to find but it one of the
BEST & that is hand written in marker on each label. Had some last week at a serious tasting; what an education I received.

The most accurate write up I read stated that the Blue tasted like smokey whiskey that has been strained through a sweaty tube sock. I found out 1st hand when offered a shot by the owner of the club I worked at. I was greatful and disappointed. I had been planning to save the $ get a bottle for my father as a gift since I visit him only once a year. No offense to those who enjoy it but I didn't really have the coin at the time & felt relieved & purchased something else.

I was actually in scotland a couple months ago, went to a distillery for a tasting. Highland scotch is my jam.
