I took off the mufflers and midpipes and rode it for one day. It does sound rough, it does backfire, it does gurgle on overrun - and passing people I feel selfish. It's backwards to install something so rough to a bike so finely tuned and spectacular as a busa...but...that rough, dirty raw sound is kind of appealing. I bought some hedman tips and I'll be running those while I save up for an r55.
My only real fear is burning the valves, since my 05 fireblade did the same with a full custom tune, and a very upmarket sato exhaust system.
Because of the way that blade was built I paid a small fortune fixing it. In the end I decided it might have been because I frequently wrang it's neck to redline, I hope busas are tougher cos I treat my bikes hard!!
Ps my old man got knocked off his bike yesterday, shattered collar bone. Usual story, car didn't see him. So I don't give a F**K about noise pollution.
