Has anyone added a light kit?
Which brand did you go with?
Did you go with the pod version or the LED strips?
Where did you place the lights on the bike?

Amazon has a bunch of light kits for $50. It’s a cheap way to add some pizzazz so I’m considering it.

noooooo dont do it, resist the Vato-Zone treatment

...but if you do, what you do is put scotch tape (recall how it has some kind of matte/satin finish) or something similar all over the lights to dim them down a little. that way its a subtle glow instead of some poop that looks like it came from temu

=D

XKGLOW awesome quality.

I'm one of the few that like LED light kits for motorcycles due to it making the bike it MORE VISIBLE at NIGHT WHILE RIDING.

If you don't really ride at night then I wouldn't worry about it.

Now for the kit I went with I'm sort of mixed about it. For one it's $expensive$ and I'm not sure that it was worth the money. Possibly would go with a cheaper kit next time. I do love the support from the company and love that I can get replacement part OR scale up if I choose to.

If and when you do decide to get one I would get some 3M adhesion promoter and apply a coating before you apply your light strip.

I like them if it's done correctly. I had a 1995 Speed Triple where I installed one green and one purple neon light tube under the tail. They were tucked away and looked good. Also had the benefit of making me more visible at night.

If you're just parking lot pimpin' then a cheap kit will do the job.
Yeah, it's weird how there is such a big range in prices considering they all probably come from China and pretty much do the same thing.
Amazon has light kits for as low as $30. I'd feel better about spending a bit more hoping for better quality.

Im
In Cali- Far as I know, blue and red are illegal bcuz it’s impersonating a cop.

I had blue only on a gsxr and had no issues, my buddy had yellow, no issues. This was some years ago tho.

Stangman 327 - what was the process to install?
To be honest it was a pain in the butt!

I tried to keep them as hidden as much as possible with only one area showing visible lights but I think it was a good compromise. It's also a pain when I have to remove the fairings.

Did you want to know the placement of the strips/pods?

I placed the control module inside of the rear tail (hidden).

Thanks, I'll check it. Hate to go through the cost and installation and find out later it was all a waste.

I was hoping not to remove the fairings but how else to route the wires? Hmmm...we'll see.
I appreciate your time in showing the pics and relating your experience.
