Anyone have problems with.....

I have a 2000 with RS-3 slipons and a K&N. It seems at really low RPM I get a slight bucking feeling. It is really noticeable when I come to a stop light and it goes green while still rolling. If I give it slight throttle and she jerks a little.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Stu

I'm not sure but how about a little more info.
How long has this been going on?
When did it start acting up? mileage, before or after exhaust, before or after K & N filter.
Does it only happen off idle or does it sometimes stumble when you wack the throttle on the highway or other times?
Its been a while since I've been able to ride mine(it's a 2000 also) and I can't remember how mine acts off the line. If I remember correctly at really low speeds with the throttle just bearly open it does stumble a little. The reason I asked about the highway speeds is that is the way mine was acting and I found out that the cam chain was off by a tooth when the recall on the tensioner was done.

Others will post here soon I'm sure maybe someone else can help more. And if I haven't already said it, Welcome to the board

Well, if you do a search you're going to get goobs of info related to this stuff. Slip-on's generally add to the jerkyness. They generally make the bike run rich in the lower rpms. You will get several opinions on this but here's mine as to what you need:

- SmartTRE from www.ivansperformanceproducts.com. This will smooth out low rpm the roll-ons. ($140?)

- Powercommander for your year bike with the recommended map. See www.dynojet.com (~$320). For even smoother performance, you can have your map customized from a Dynojet certified shop (~$200-$300).

- Ensure that your idle is no lower than the recommended 1150 rpm. I recommend you bump it up to 1250 rpm.

- Ensure that your throttle cables a snug to spec. Too much play can magnify the harsh kick-in effect.

There you go.
